Beautiful and unique, this spacious, one-of-a-kind home has been updated with modern design, while maintaining its historic character and charm.
Originally built as a Sorority house for Utah State University in 1946, this home has known only 3 other owners. Because it was built with the Sorority in mind, it is much larger than many homes in this neighborhood, totaling over 3,000 square feet.
Take a walk, ride the bus, or even commute on your bike to work, school, and shopping! This house is conveniently located in a walkable neighborhood just 6 blocks from Old Main Hill at Utah State University, 2 blocks from Adams Elementary and Mt Logan Middle School, and centered 1 block between Smith's Marketplace, and the transit center.
The location alone will help you stay fit and save money on gas!
The main floor entry way, the original door is framed with matching soffits and a custom light fixture and plenty of room on either side for a welcome bench and coat rack.
The grand room is filled with tons of natural light from South facing windows.
The black bamboo floors give contrast to the afternoon sunshine, while the soffit lighting yields a romantic glow after dark.

Dining area is spacious and opens up to a side porch with French Doors.
The open-design living, dining, and kitchen space facilitates the luxury of interactive entertaining. Imagine preparing gourmet meals in this custom built kitchen while not missing a minute of what your guests are up to.
A deep, double basin farmhouse sink is framed by abundant counter-top space. These gorgeous white concrete counter-tops are embedded with recycled glass. A glass-tile back splash spans the length of the counter-tops creating a modern, yet classic, appeal.
The dishwasher is from the Whirlpool Gold collection and we chose the white option to coordinate with the sink. A total of eleven drawers help organize kitchen clutter. Upper cabinets feature custom glass work on doors and lower cabinets have ample space to hide those unsightly counter-top appliances.
Pull-out cabinets frame the refrigerator, making the perfect storage location for everyday items. The fridge is from the Fridigdaire Gallery Stainless Steel collection and features an ice maker, ice dispenser (crushed or cubed), and filtered water dispenser.
The matching gas range has an extra large 5 cubic foot self-cleaning convection oven.
The range-top features 5 cooking zones, with the option of a center griddle.
Mounted microwave is also a member of the Frigidaire Gallery Stainless collection.
Lighting in this kitchen was of high priority in the remodel and proves to be very versatile. Soft light is featured with the pendant fixtures, in the breakfast nook, over the bar area and as the main kitchen light source. Halogen lighting above and within the cabinets illuminate with the precise amount of brightness and brilliance that every kitchen should have.
One of my favorite things about this house is the breakfast nook:
The bedroom on the main floor is painted in a modern gray with contrasting white trim and features ample closet space, recessed lighting, and a ceiling fan.
The laundry area is located in the hallway between the bedroom and bathroom on the main level. When we purchased the home in 2001, this little area was a closet with a locking door and telephone jack. We were told that this was the "phone booth" for the Sorority girls.
Bathroom on the main floor has loads of storage, a pedestal sink,
and a uniquely curved all-tile shower:

Kitchen in basement, which opens to spacious pantry, shown below:
The garage was just finished this year. It is open on the side and rear for backyard access.
We have been showing the place a lot this past week, so if you are even slightly interested in making this your new home, please contact us for a private showing.
Also, feel free to leave any comments or questions for us, we will check back often.
Thanks for looking, and best of luck finding your perfect home!

Upstairs, the original hardwood floors have been refinished to reveal the beauty of this unique home. Featuring 2 1/2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom on this level, you will find numerous options for storage in the built-in desk, drawers and closets. The hallway houses 3 full-sized storage closets, as well as an above-the-stairs cabinet and six built-in drawers.
Bedroom 1 on this level is very large and could be considered the "master" bedroom.
The second bedroom yields to a cozy 1/2 bedroom, perfect for a nursery, exercise room, craft room, toy room, walk-in closet... the possibilities are endless!
The full bathroom on this level features the original cast-iron bathtub. This tub is much deeper and longer than most modern day models, making it the perfect retreat for a relaxing bubble bath. The uniquely deep, aqua-blue sink is also a 1946 original.
Bedroom 1 in the basement has a custom queen-sized bed frame built into the room:
lucky you, this bed is here to stay!
Created from reclaimed lumber, this beautiful bed frame features 6 under-the-bed drawers (3 on each side), stained-glass fluorescent lighting (separately controlled by square wooden push-buttons), side tables that are mounted to the wall, and book storage hidden below the headboard. There is an open-door lighted closet in the right of the photo; this deep closet makes practical use of the under-the-staircase void. A total of 12 various sized drawers and cubbies have also been built into the wall under the staircase. Floor is polished concrete.
Extra large windows in both bedrooms bring in plenty of afternoon sunlight.
(Note: it does not feel like a basement in here).
A spacious bathroom is set between the two bedrooms. The uniquely designed shower consists of slate tile with Logan River rocks serving as shelves. Lighting options include recessed and over-the-sink vanity lights. Floor is tile and painted concrete..jpg)
